Founded in 1912 in Bassano del Grappa, Montegrappa is the most authentic expression of Italy’s culture of luxury writing instruments. For over a century, it has combined craftsmanship, innovation and precious materials, transforming the writing instrument into an object of luxury and collectability.

AUTHOR OF THE YEAR AF Steadman

AF Steadman’s iconic Skandar series may be full of magic, but so is this author. Four Skandar books were released last year, with the final instalment in the series, Skandar and the Spirit War, clinching the author her second number-one children’s bestseller spot. She also enjoyed a 60% growth in year-on-year sales across every format. But being Author of the Year is not only about outstanding commercial performance. Her publication timeline was beaten only by her event schedule. No author worked harder last year to meet their fans. Across 55 events – including a superfan celebration, six festival appearances and over 22 school visits – Steadman reached more than 13,000 children. She also ensured every child could see themselves in her epic unicorn adventures, with the Skandar series championing inclusivity, featuring representations of chronic illness, disability, queer identity and neurodiversity. Unsurprisingly, Steadman sums it up best: “There is

absolutely nothing like seeing the wonder on a child’s face who has suddenly realised reading can be fun, and their imagination can take them anywhere.”
