SARA JONES ALEX REES


IDS has re-shaped its senior management team with the promotion of Sara Jones to operations director (north) and the appointment of Alex Rees as operations director (South). Jones is the first woman to join the IDS board. She joined the business in 1994 as a trade counter assistant and was eventually promoted to regional director in 2011. Rees joined IDS after nine years’ experience at Saint-Gobain owned businesses, including Jewson, Gibbs and Dandy, Normans and British Gypsum.

TRITON EMILY JOHNSON PHILIP VINER STUART LANE


Triton has appointed Emily Johnson as sales director for retail and export, Philip Viner (centre) as commercial director and Stuart Lane as trade sales director. Johnson has been with Triton for 17 years. Viner has more than 20 years’ experience in product manage- ment and development and moved to Triton from Wolseley UK’s Plumbing and Heating division. Lane was previously head of trade sales at Triton and has worked for the manufacturer for more than 20 years.


CLIVE CHRISTIAN FURNITURE PHILLIP COLE


Phillip Cole has been appointed as global sales director at Clive Christian Furniture. The furniture company is currently under new leadership from new owner and chairman, David Dare. Cole will be responsible for strategic brand partnerships and sales planning and will oversee the company’s 18 showrooms in the UK, Europe, Asia, and the USA. Over the past 10 years, Cole has managed contract sales in the hospitality sector for Perrin and Rowe, as well as for Shaws of Darwen and Victoria + Albert.

SEVEN NEW APPRENTICES


Egger has added seven recruits to its new apprenticeship programme. They started their time at Egger by each planting a tree in the ‘apprentice forest’ at its factory in Barony, East Ayrshire. Ben Menzies and Blair Nicholl join as electrical apprentices, Jamie Kennedy and Darren McGuckin as mechanical apprentices, Lewis Symonds and Sam McKee as manu- facturing apprentices and Robbie Brown as a stores apprentice. The apprenticeships lead to a Level 3 Scottish Vocational Qualification.

MARK ARMSTRONG


Mark Armstrong has been appointed as the new channel director for Haier Europe. His main goal will be to drive the contracts business in the UK and the Republic of Ireland (RoI). Armstrong has a career in the white-goods industry spanning 30 years. He joins Haier from AO.com, where he was head of sales to house builders. Before that he was channel manager for contracts at Electrolux for eight years. Armstrong said: “I simply couldn’t pass up an opportunity to work for the world’s number one in home appliances.”


PRIMAFLOW F&P ANDREW BALLANTINE


Andrew Ballantine is the new managing director for Primaflow F&P, the UK heating, plumbing and bathroom wholesaler. Ballantine worked for Newbury Investments – the company that acquired Primaflow F&P, in January this year – for 22 years, most recently as chief operating officer of Decco, the distributor of DIY, gardening and houseware products into retail. Ballantine said: “Our recent acquisition makes these exciting times for Primaflow F&P. I look forward to helping our team continue to offer our customers market-leading service.”
