Salone del Mobile and EuroCucina postponed until April 2021


SALONE DEL Mobile and EuroCucina have been postponed for a second time and will now not take place until April 13-18, 2021. The event was already postponed from its original date in April this year to June but, because of the unprecedented circumstances in Italy and many other countries around the world, the board of Salone del Mobile.Milano has chosen to postpone the event for a year. Next year will mark the 60th anniversary of the Salone, which will be hosting all the usual biennial exhibition elements, including EuroCucina, the kitchen furniture exhibition. The other exhibitions in 2021 will include: Salone Internazionale del Mobile, the International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition, Workplace3.0, S. Project and SaloneSatellite, FTK – Technology for the Kitchen and the International Bathroom Exhibition.


Distributor Robert Lee keeps lines open for essential services


ROBERT LEE, one of the UK’s biggest bathroom and plumbing distributors, has been offering an ‘essential services’ order system despite temporarily closing its main delivery network. The company, based in Waltham Abbey in Essex been providing a service to supply essential industries, such as the NHS, pharmaceutical and food production. A specialist team was set up to handle calls and ensure a rapid response with quick turnaround times. “We wanted to support the effort to tackle the crisis,” said managing director Matt Earle. “We set up an emergency line for products required by the NHS and key worker services. The Furniture Makers’ Company sets up coronavirus welfare fund


THE CITY of London livery company and charity, The Furniture Makers’ Company, is setting up a fund to help people whose livelihoods have been directly effected by coronavirus. The One Step at a Time welfare campaign can provide financial assistance to workers with a grant that can cover costs including essential household items or bills, property repairs, disabled and medical equipment and financial hardship. Dids Macdonald OBE, Master of The Furniture Makers’ Company, said: “For over 100 years our charity has


supported the industry and now more than ever we want colleagues working in the trade, from shop staff, production workers, designers, designer-makers, interior designers, sales staff and everyone in between, to know that we are ready to help them and it is easy to apply.


“Our One Step at a Time welfare campaign has built an industry community of One Step Champions, to say that we are here if a curve ball strikes. No one could have foreseen the scale of the current challenges and therefore we need to be united in our collective effort to help.”
