WHIRLPOOL HUGO SILVA


Whirlpool UK Appliances, the parent company to KitchenAid, Whirlpool, Hotpoint and Indesit, has appointed Hugo Silva as marketing director for the UK and Ireland. Silva jointed Whirlpool in 1998 and he has progressed though the company to hold a number of jobs including: senior product manager, national key account manager and marketing manager. His most recent role was country manager for Portugal for the last 11 years. Silva said: “I am delighted to be joining the UK team and it is a great opportunity to share my experience.”

PETER PHELAN


Abode has promoted Peter Phelan to sales director. Phelan has been with the company for 13 years. He was previously a national sales manager and, during that time, his sales and customer relationships have been central to driving company growth. Abode managing director Matthew Pitt said: “I look forward to working with him to ensure we convert all the many new business opportunities available to us. He is synonymous with the Abode name in the market and nobody has a better knowledge of what is important to all our customers.”

CONNOR JUDGE


JJO has appointed Connor Judge as its new area sales manager for the West Midlands. Judge joins the company after four years with Blackheath Products. Judge said: “I’m delighted to be joining JJO plc, I look forward to drawing on my experience which I have gained through the years of working in the distribution industry, to nurture and grow the kitchen and bedroom business. I aim to keep the high standards of customer service that JJO have provided to their customers over the many years and hope to continue that work.”

VIRTUAL WORLDS JOSH CARVER


Virtual Worlds has appointed Josh Carver as regional sales manager for the South. Reporting to national sales manager Matthew Frogatt, Carver will cover the south of the country, from the River Thames down to the south coast, and west to east from Portsmouth to Margate. Carver will be looking after existing customers and introducing new customers to Virtual Worlds design technology and software, including 4D Theatre. Carver brings a wealth of experience to his Virtual Worlds role, thanks to his background as a kitchen designer.

LOCHANNA KITCHENS JOHN BOSTON, RAJ BHACHU AND SCOT GREENWOOD


LochAnna Kitchens has appointed three new regional sales managers John Boston, Raj Bhachu and Scot Greenwood. Boston has been made the regional sales manager for East Midlands and South-East. Bhachu has been appointed as regional sales manager for West Midlands and South-West. Both Boston and Bhachu have been in the industry for seven years. Greenwood is regional sales manager for Yorkshire, North-East and Scotland. He previously was assistant sales manager at Omega kitchens.

JIM MCEWAN


Haier has appointed Jim McEwan as chief commercial officer for the UK and Ireland. He joins Haier following 20 years in the appliance industry, predominantly in commercial and product development and most recently vice president and country manager at Furrion. McEwan will oversee Haier’s UK team and will be responsible for expanding the brand within the UK and Ireland market. McEwan said: “I am thrilled with the opportunity to help lead Haier into the next stage of its development in the UK and Ireland marketplace.”
