Sycamore Lighting said that his expert knowledge, drive, humour and determination earned him huge respect with his colleagues and customers. Managing director Gary Baxter said: “When Gary joined Sycamore, lighting in the kitchen industry was in its infancy, with fluorescent strip lights and R50 reflector lamps the only choice, but with the development of low-voltage lighting, the company needed a lighting professional, and Gary was the perfect choice.”

HARRISON BATHROOMS ANDY BENTLEY
Andy Bentley has been appointed as the new national specification manager of Scudo and 1 of 1 Bathrooms, part of Leeds-based company Harrison Bathrooms. He will be responsible for driving sales for the business in the contracts sector. ‘‘Scudo is a young, mid-market brand that doesn’t try to be something it isn’t,” said Bentley. “We aggressively attack the market going after share, but have the financial strength to be a genuinely stock-driven business
with a one-stop-shop offering for the
contracts sector, which mitigates supply issues when dealing with multiple supply chains. It’s a fairly unique position to be in.’’
WILSONART GEMMA EVANS
Gemma Evans has joined Wilsonart as the new kitchens account manager for the North. She will be looking after the kitchen side of the company. She has six years’ experience in the industry after working with CRL Stone, most recently as its north-west sales merchandiser. Speaking of her appointment Evans said: “My time in the industry has given me a strong familiarity with the wants and needs of the kitchen sector’s client base and how to angle our product offering appropriately. I look forward to being able to leverage our current global presence to show just how important cost-effective alternatives like laminate can be, especially in the current climate.”
