Would you recommend the product to other nurseries?


Yes, we would recommend it. Our educators were able to scaffold children’s learning using the product. We first looked at mathematical concepts such as slow and fast. Being a bilingual setting, we always appreciate open-ended resources as they allow us to be flexible with the choice of language we use. Staff were able to practise counting in Spanish with children, as they counted the number of items that were rolled down the ramps. We found that the product was good for encouraging imagination and creativity, as well as problem-solving. Children learned that they could make things roll faster if they had the ramp on a steeper incline. As they worked as a team to manoeuvre the pieces, staff were able to praise their teamwork and coordination. This product also helped promote communication and language development, as we could introduce concepts such as ‘steep’ and discuss the different items that could be rolled down it.
