Create fantastic plastic container planters
You can use any size of plastic bottle for this activity, but we chose to decorate clear 2 litre bottles and a couple of fabric conditioner bottles – just make sure you clean decorate them.
What you’ll need
• Plastic bottles any size or shape • • Paint - acrylic is best or decorative foam/paper • • • Seeds or plants of your choice
We used plastic bottles for this activity, but you can reuse anything that would normally be discarded – old
As you can see our little ones enjoyed decorating their planters – using their imagination to create something unique. Watch the delight on their faces in this muddy

More messy play with our seed
bomb! We loved this messy activity. It’s an activity you can do all year round but is a great way to prepare for spring. Our seed bombs are made with recycled card but you can use any paper that you would normally place in recycling.
What you’ll need
• - Pack of 200
• • Food colouring (optional) • Lots of water • Mixing bowl • Old tea towel • Ice cube tray or mould - we found a lovely bug design • An old food blender (optional) • Paper shredder (optional) or scissors
Method
1. Shred or cut up your paper/card and let it soak in water
2. Add the paper and water to your blender in small amounts and blend into a pulp.
3. Add food colouring (optional) and your seeds and mix a little more.
4. Strain the excess water from your pulp using the tea towel.
Place the paper and seed pulp into your ice cube tray or moulds.
6. Let your seed bombs dry as quickly as possible to prevent early germination.
Now you can spread your seed bombs in your garden or maybe create them as a little gift for special occasions or fundraising.
