Measures announced to help schools reduce teacher workload

Government confirms funded teacher pay rise

Ofsted plans to remove teaching and learning grade
The watchdog is planning to remove the teaching and learning grade from future school inspection grades. The teaching, learning and assessment rating that schools are currently given is to be combined with the pupil outcomes grade and replaced with a new quality of education category. Read more at TES
Teachers ‘need more training on childhood trauma’
A children’s charity has called for teachers to receive more training in how to support children who have experienced trauma. The survey by Barnardo’s Scotland showed that many school staff have not been trained on the impact of early trauma and “adverse childhood experiences” (ACEs). Read more at TES
