Mulberry Contract Furniture, exhibiting for the first time at an annual DiMHN conference and exhibition, says it is eagerly anticipating visitors’ discovery of its Prodigy range. The company said: “The launch of this pioneering collection marks the introduction of the UK’s first rota-moulded bedroom furniture range, with a distinct wood grain finish. xxx xxx The ‘next

generation’ in washroom control

“The next generation in washroom control is here with the Wallgate WDC- NX-BTD Handheld Bluetooth Device for remote washroom management – providing wireless control in the palm of your hand,” says the specialist designer and manufacturer of ‘robust, innovative, and efficient’ washrooms and sanitaryware solutions. Wallgate added: “With the ability to

fully programme and remotely manage your washrooms, including features such as water lockouts to isolate sanitaryware, remote activation of all connected sanitaryware, adjustable cycle times, and set auto-purging to minimise little-used outlets, this remote management solution now provides staff with full washroom control, without the need to enter the service- user’s room; particularly invaluable in highly volatile situations.” The Handheld Bluetooth Device is

durable, with an antimicrobial enclosure and desktop docking station. Wallgate said: “We’ve also taken security very seriously, and have programmed the device to solely connect with the Wallgate WDC-NX washroom management system, removed all cameras, and restricted any external communications.

Used alongside our WEX300- NX intelligent distribution board and WDC100-NX and WDC200-NX modules, it can provide single or twin room control of water, power, and lighting. Also, with the ability to instantly access real-time usage data, our device enables staff to closely monitor individual service-user behaviour on-the- move.”

The company said: “Join us at DiMH 2024 to witness the fusion of pioneering design, quality manufacturing, and unparalleled comfort, setting a new standard in the challenging furniture market. We look forward to welcoming you.”

‘Pioneering’ mental health bedroom returns for second year running

A ‘pioneering’ modular mental health bedroom built by Darwin Group is returning to the Design in Mental Health event for a second year running. Bedroom Evolved drew the crowds

at last year’s exhibition on its launch. Created by leading offsite healthcare construction firm, Darwin Group, in collaboration with Safehinge Primera and Tough Furniture, the bedroom ‘set a new bar for acceptable standards in mental health bedroom design’, Darwin said. The company added: “This year the team behind the bedroom has made several

improvements based on visitor feedback – including changes to the furniture, lighting, flooring, and colour palette. “The idea for the original project came

from the recognition that the NHS needs a high-quality, cost-effective solution that can be deployed at speed while also providing a calming, serene place to improve people’s chances of responding successfully to treatment.” With an overall area of 32.19 m2

, the

bedroom, with an en-suite bathroom, has anti-ligature fixtures and fittings, and an innovative anti-barricade, anti-ligature door. It builds on the tried and tested space standards of repeatable rooms, incorporating the latest advances in mental health design. Darwin Group Principal architect, Louis

Sullivan, part of the team that created Bedroom Evolved, will also be speaking at the event, at 3pm on 4 June, to discuss lessons learned from the project.
