DiMH 2024 PREVIEW Anti-ligature sanitaryware for health settings

TYDE manufactures what it dubs ‘a market- leading range’ of bathroom and washroom products for the healthcare sector – including user-friendly concealed cisterns, touch-free taps, damage resistant sanitaryware, in-wall frames, and accessories. The company says its

Resan range ‘provides the

complete damage-resistant sanitaryware solution’. The range comprises WC pans, basins, urinals, and accessories. It said:

“Resan anti-ligature bathroom

fixtures and fittings enhance the safety and security of healthcare facilities. An extremely credible alternative to stainless steel, Resan looks very similar to more

common vitreous china ceramic sanitaryware, but has similar

robustness qualities to stainless steel.” Robust tables come in weighted options

Poppi Contract Furniture will be featuring the Capri Table Collection at the DIMH 2024 event. The range is available in a variety of dining and coffee table combinations, including single pedestals with round and square tops, through to a double pedestal rectangular up to a maximum size of 1200 x 2400 mm. The strong steel columns come in a choice of hard-wearing epoxy-coated RAL colours, and feature upholstered inserts to match your chair upholstery, and wood inserts to contrast or match your tabletops. The robust and heavy

Resan products are reportedly ‘uniquely engineered’ from an advanced polymer resin material which is ‘shatter-proof, exceptionally hard-wearing, and chemical resistant’.

TYDE added: “We invest heavily

in product development to keep our bathroom portfolio ground-breaking and value-adding. Our extensive design capabilities, in-house WRAS testing facilities, and on-site assembly, make Resan bathroom products a market- leading brand trusted by specifiers, contractors, and installers alike.”

Safe, filtered drinking water systems

contemporarily designed tables are also available with additional weights to complete the package.

A ‘person-centred’ approach at Preston facility

Water Meadow View is a new £32 m specialist inpatient facility for service-users with learning disabilities/autism about to start construction just north-east of Preston in Lancashire. Located on Guild Park, it has been designed by Gilling Dod, is being built by IHP for Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust, and is due for completion in Autumn 2025. Gilling Dod said: “The scheme represents a truly innovative and person-centred approach to both the building design and the new

service, creating an environment/care- model that responds directly to LD/ASD needs, and facilitates real health and wellbeing. Following intensive service- user engagement, nature and landscape emerged as key areas for LD wellbeing, informing site selection and design approach. The architecture and landscape design work in unison, with the building orientated to give all areas fantastic views to nature and the rural setting. A walled garden helps de-escalate the arrival experience, the central courtyard provides a safe, calming, controlled, private outdoor environment, while the south-facing terrace looks out over the valley and links to the nature trail.” The design is Net Zero carbon, fully electric (including its own solar farm), and ‘tracking’ a BREEAM ‘Excellent’. The scheme has been submitted for a Future Design Award at this year’s DiMH event.

Hotspot Titanium says it ‘leads the charge’ in delivering safe, filtered drinking water solutions, ‘setting the gold standard for numerous NHS Trusts and private mental healthcare providers’. It said: “Crafted in collaboration with industry insiders, our Qura system ensures minimised risks, and heightened safety, for users, giving them access to both chilled and hot filtered water. Reportedly ‘setting it apart

from the rest’, Qura boasts a titanium tank, ‘banishing scale and taste concerns for good’. The company explained: “Unlike with traditional stainless steel tanks, titanium’s properties prevent scale build-up. Qura also comes with a lifetime warranty – a testament to its unrivalled durability, even in the demanding environments often found in mental health settings.” Hotpsot Titanium added: “With

WRAS approval, Qura not only meets, but exceeds industry standards, utilising only the finest components. It’s excellence isn’t just theoretical; it’s been tested and refined through direct feedback from service-users themselves. They wanted a design resembling a tap with tactile buttons, providing a satisfying interaction. This user-driven approach ensures that Qura meets the diverse needs and preferences of its users.” Qura is either retrofittable, or

available in customisable form with a full turnkey solution, including drinking system and cabinets from ‘trusted partner’, Taurus.
