Quality Assurance Jonathan Reeves
Jonathan Reeves is a Clinical Scientist working at Barts Health NHS Trust. He is the head of Mechanical Engineering and the Governance lead for Clinical Physics. Additionally, Jonathan Reeves works in medical device development projects involving 3D printing techniques. Current phantom projects include:
neonatal carotid artery training phantoms, vascular ultrasound phantoms and MRI distortion phantoms.
Tom Brophy
Tom Brophy leads the surgical and mechanical workshop at Barts Heath NHS Trust. He served a five-year apprenticeship which was managed by the Worshipful Company of Cutlers, one of the oldest Livery companies of the City of London. On completion, he was awarded a position as a Master Cutler Surgical Instrument Maker. He is passionate about raising awareness of the need to improve surgical instrument quality, and appeared on BBC Panorama’s ‘Surgery’s Dirty Secrets’.

Sojin Mappidecheri is an experienced Engineering Technologist and has extensive experience in manufacturing and design. Previously, he has worked as a Manufacturing Process Engineer and Fixture Designer in aerospace and as a Process Engineer for miniature motors used in medical and industrial applications. At Barts Health, Sojin focuses on manufacturing tissue-mimicking materials and handling the repair and quality assurance of surgical instruments.
