INSTITUTE NEWS Workshop to help maximise your potential
As part of strengthening its offer to members, both professionally and personally, IHEEM has organised a workshop, taking place next month in Eastleigh, Hampshire, to help members manage their health and wellbeing in the workplace.
The Institute says attendees at the CPD- qualifying event will ‘acquire the tools to change their mindset’ – including information on how the brain works, on ‘turning a negative into a positive’, and on the mind’s interaction with our everyday lives and work scenarios. Also covered will be mechanisms on how to reduce and cope with stress, with a focus on ‘being mindful’, and a look at the causes and symptoms of stress and how to reduce it. Participants will be able to share and learn from others in a confidential, relaxed environment, and will be encouraged to practice the methods presented, and consider implementing them into their daily life.
IHEEM says Heather Donaldson, who will
lead the workshop, has ‘practised and developed a unique style of working with alternative therapies’; she has over 20 years’ experience as an accredited NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) Practitioner, Life Coach, Journey Therapist, and Reiki Master. The Institute said: “Her passion is helping people to help themselves. With high levels of stress everywhere, many are looking for something to help, but unsure what to do. This has led Heather to look at different ways to reach out. Practices such as mental rehearsal and reflection-based questions are designed to help people become aware of how their minds and bodies deal with stress and limiting beliefs.” The workshop will take place on Tuesday 11 February, from 10.30 am – 4.00 pm, at The Concorde, Stoneham Lane, Eastleigh, about an eight-minute drive from Southampton Airport; free parking is available. Project Support Officer, Monira Kaouech, said: “Spaces are limited. For more information, or to book,
email
events@iheem.org.uk, or telephone 023 9282 3186.”
She added: “January will be IHEEM’s ‘Wellbeing month’, during which we will be raising awareness of our members’ wellbeing. We will be posting helpful articles designed for light reads on the journey to and from work, and providing useful skills for a healthy and balanced life, relationships, and employability. Stay tuned for February’s material on maximising your potential in 2020.”
