Tania Davies, chief operating officer, IHEEM
“This is my second year as a judge for the IHEEM Special Award and I am delighted to have the opportunity to engage with so many brilliant more ideas and creative healthcare solutions. The Institute is proud to sponsor this award and I hope it offers as much inspiration and enjoyment to all of our entrants as much as it does to those of us reviewing the projects.”
Steven Heape, program manager, Carbon & Energy Fund
“I’ve been a lifelong engineer, passionate about how engineering projects come together. The Big Bang Competition is a fantastic platform that opens young people’s eyes to the diversity and excitement of engineering. It showcases how many different skills and minds are needed to make big ideas work and I’m proud to be part of that as a judge.”
Mohammud Haji, estates and facilities graduate, Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust
“I really valued being part of the judging process and seeing firsthand the creativity, innovation and enthusiasm of the students. The competition is a brilliant platform for

young people to showcase their ideas and build confidence in STEM.”
Thomas Bailey, estates officer, NHS Humber Health Partnership
“My role is based at Scunthorpe General Hospital as a mechanical estates officer where I am responsible for the management of our new boiler house. I look forward to seeing all of the competition submissions and what interesting ideas everyone has come up with.”
