Sesotec will be showing its sorting technology at Fakuma, ranging from systems for whole-bottle sorting to highly sensitive PET particle separation. It is also targeting injection moulding companies and system integrators with a feature on metal separa- tors that can be networked in the production environment using the OPC UA (Open Platform Communications Unified Architecture) machine communication standard. At the show, Sesotec will present metal separa- tors for the plastics industry which prevent metal contaminations from reaching plastics processing machines and thus protect tools against clogging and damage. It will also introduce new service packages that ensure best possible preparation in case of malfunctions.

Mesutronic is launching the Plastron 05 K metal separator developed for examining plastic granu- lates, ground material and powders for metallic foreign bodies. It is used in the injection moulding and extrusion areas for slow-flowing material columns. Both the detector and the ejection unit have been specially developed for this area of use. The company says this results in top performance data for precision, operating reliability and ease of cleaning. The system can also be used for diverse material temperatures and flow characteristics.

Albis Plastics acquired Wipag Deutschland in 2017, adding injection-mouldable carbon fibre- based compounds to its own portfolio of recycled products. PP CF compounds feature “excellent rigidity and low density, saving weight, cutting cost and increasing efficiency compared to highly filled fiberglass-reinforced PA types”, says the company. The company is expanding its Altech Eco
product portfolio to include a recyclate-based PET+PBT blend compound. This compound can be modified with fillers and additives, and is a cost- effective alternative to prime PBT and PA6 com- pounds without sacrificing mechanical properties or exceptional surface quality, its says. Altech PET+PBT Eco can also be produced in custom colours. Albis has also taken on distribution of QCP’s range
of recycled products. Recently acquired by Lyondell- Basell and Suez, QCP makes products consisting of post-consumer PE and PP branded as Hostalen and Moplen QC. The products are targeted at many appli- cations including cosmetics and toiletries.

Cabot Corp is launching Techblak black master- batches at Fakuma. This product range is formu- lated using recycled resins, from both post-industri- al and post-consumer sources. Cabot says it has extensive experience in formulating specific blends of recycled raw materials that enable high perfor- mance, delivering consistent colour, UV-protection and quality, particularly where there is a need for increased sustainability.

Almaak International is expanding the Anjatech range of compounds with recycled carbon fibre, which it introduced at Fakuma 2017. The portfolio has now been expanded with the development of Anjatech PP 850-KF10 and Anjatech PC / ABS 055/80-KF10. By using recycled carbon fibres, the company says it is meeting the demands of the automotive industry. Other compounds being shown by Almaak include Anjatech PP800V-DE and Anjatech PP800V-E high-impact PP compounds based on PP homopolymers.
