SHOW PREVIEW | CHINAPLAS 2018

immense potential of PET and built machinery for the production of tape fabric that can be fed with virgin PET, recycled pellets, and even PET bottle flakes. Having left its develop- ment phase behind, this technology is now capturing the market.” The company high- lighted its award-winning rPET PP*Star pinch bottom bag. This bag is made of recycled material and is fully recyclable. It said its PET recycling lines produce “excellent” resin quality with optional decontamination and IV increase. A new develop- ment is the Rapid Sleeve Changer, a melt filter developed specifically for contaminated PET recycling streams. Its beneits include filtration down to 15 microns as well as high machine uptime. In Starlinger’s showroom in Taicang, visitors will

experience live demonstrations of two lines which are used in sack production: the coating line LamiTEC LX and the conversion line Ad*StarKON. On its Chinaplas stand, it will display its RX 6.0 high-speed circular loom for producing Ad*Star sacks. www.starlinger.com

Erema said it will show visitors to its Chinaplas stand how they can process not only clean produc- tion waste but also heavily contaminated post- consumer materials. It is demonstrating an Intar- ema TVEplus line processing production waste from PP big bag bulk containers, which does not require pre-shredding. The company developed TVEplus in combina- tion with its Laserfilter specially for processing post-consumer materials. “This recycling duo is particularly suitable for material with a high degree of contamination, when conventional filters can no longer offer the necessary cleaning efficiency,” said James Qiu, CEO of Erema China. Erema will also discuss its smart factory package at Chinaplas. Online quality measurement equipment records the MVR and colour values of the recyclate during processing. Additionally, the Re360 manufac- turing execution system enables processors to transfer production and machine data from multiple systems directly to the main computer in real time. www.erema.com

At Chinaplas, Gneuss will show its proprietary Gneuss Processing Unit (GPU) designed for

reprocessing bulky PET waste such as post-con- sumer bottle flake and industrial waste from fibre and film manufac- ture without pre-drying. The GPU’s elements are a MRS extruder, a Rotary Filtration System and a VIS online viscometer. Although originally developed specifically for PET, the MRS is now

also running in polyolefin and PA applica-

tions, and being tested on a range of other materials and applications.

Gneuss says: “Based on a conventional single

screw extruder, the MRS extruder’s Multi Rotation Section is a drum containing eight satellite single screws, driven by a ring gear and pinion transmis- sion. The “barrels” cut into the drum are approxi- mately 30% open and provide optimum exposure of the melt. “Thanks to this design, the devolatilising performance is approximately 50 times greater than that of a conventional single screw extruder – and this at a vacuum of only 25 to 40 mbar. By avoiding the need for a deep vacuum system and pre-drying, the MRS is an economically efficient alternative to conventional technologies.” www.gneuss.de

Ettlinger will be making its debut as an exhibitor at Chinaplas, showing its melt filtration products, including its new ERF350. This first appearance at Chinaplas will be an opportunity to highlight Ettlinger’s global presence since its takeover by Maag Group in January this year. Ettlinger said it will significantly increase its commitment in China, and it is setting up a new sales office in Hong Kong. Volker Neuber, Managing Director of Ettlinger,

said: “Apart from the base that will soon be opening in Hong Kong, run by Louis Hoi, we also have plans to establish more subsidiaries in Asia in the near future. All of these bases will maintain close links with our steadily growing number of local agencies, so that we can provide even faster and more extensive support to customers in the region. Maag’s existing infrastructure will greatly facilitate our work there, for instance by making supplies of spare parts much easier and more efficient.” Read about the ERF and ECO products Ettlinger will show at Chinaplas in the NPE 2018 preview article starting on page 39. www.ettlinger.com
