SHOW PREVIEW | NPE 2018

order to offer shorter delivery lead times and lower costs, says Gneuss. The SFXmagnus filter series operates automati- cally and is process and pressure constant. This series is characterised by an extra large active screen surface area, its compact design, as well as easy operation. An SFXmagnus 60 with an active filtration area of 23 square inches will be on display at NPE. The RSFgenius top model filter from Gneuss

At NPE, Gneuss will show a complete Gneuss Processing Unit (GPU) including a Multi Rotation System MRS 130 extruder, a fully automatic melt filtration system RSFgenius 150 and an online viscometer VIS, for the processing of 2,000 lbs/h of undried and uncrystallised PET. As well as technology for processing virgin material, Gneuss supplies systems for extrusion of recy- clate. The line on the show floor in Orlando will be delivered to a customer in the US after the show to process 2,000 lbs/h of rPET into thermoforming sheet. Gneuss says the GPU technology

“has proven itself for the reprocess- ing of bulky PET waste such as post-consumer bottle flake and industrial waste from fibre and film manufacture without pre-drying”. A GPU consists of a Gneuss MRS extruder with high-performance devolatilisation and decontamina- tion, combined with an efficient Gneuss Rotary Filtration System and an online viscometer VIS for intelligent dynamic viscosity control. The German group will exhibit several different models of its patented Rotary Filtration Systems. All models have been completely revised since the last NPE in 2015. Modifications to the screen changer housings permit operation on a wider range of applications at higher pressures, whilst offering enlarged active filtration areas. operates with an integrated self cleaning system for very demanding applications and highest quality requirements. Filtration fineness below 10 microns/1200 mesh is available. At NPE, an RSFgenius 150 with an active filtration area of 70 square inches will be exhibited with the MRS 130 extruder as part of the GPU. There will also be two more RSFgenius units in different sizes on the show floor. The RSFgenius M is especially designed for highly contaminated materials, such as in recycling processes, the company says. Gneuss will also exhibit a KF 150 screen changer with an active screen area of 28 square inches. The KF range of continuous filtration systems is designed specifically for applications with frequent material type, grade or colour changes as well as for high pressure applications like blown film. www.gneuss.de

NPE 2018 will be one of the first major trade fairs at which melt filtration specialist Ettlinger will exhibit under the umbrella of the Maag Group, which acquired

Ettlinger in January. Visitors to NPE will find Ettlinger melt filters at Booth S20189 on Level 1 in the South Hall Recycling Zone and also at the Maag Booth W5775 on Level 2 in the West Hall. Ettlinger is showing a number of its rotary drum melt filters at the

exhibition. Its newest melt filter is the ERF350 which is a further development

on the ERF250, which has become the most popular model in the Ettlinger portfolio. The ERF350 is the first model in a new, performance enhanced generation, the company says. Depend- ing on the type and level of contamination in the melt and the selected screen size, it achieves a maximum throughput of 8,300 lbs/hr. This repre- sents an increase of around 28% compared to the proven ERF250 using the same filtration surface, the same small footprint and high energy efficiency. The company will also highlight its ECO continu-
