120-plus exhibitors signed up for compounding/recycling shows


More than 120 companies have now booked stands at the Compounding World Expo and the Plastics Recycling World Exhibition, which will take place in adjacent halls at Messe Essen in Germany on 27-28 June 2018. “We’ve seen a rush of bookings during October and November and now have more than 120 companies signed up for the exhibitions,” said Matt Wherlock, AMI’s Exhibition Sales Manager. “Places are continuing to fill up fast, with many stand sizes and key positions close to selling out,” he added. BD builds flagship US facility


Medical device company Becton Dickinson (BD) has broken ground on a $60m upgrade of its 15-year-old Columbus- East facility in Nebraska. This will add 6,400m2


of


space and turn the site into the company’s flagship plastic injection moulding manufacturing facility when the project is completed by 2021, said the company.

Intelligent Fingerprinting partners with Europlaz


Intelligent Fingerprinting has signed a three-year deal with the medical device manufac- turing specialist Europlaz to produce critical components for the cartridge element of its Intelligent Fingerprinting Drug Screening System. Both companies are based in the UK. Europlaz specialises in injection moulded plastic components, sub-assemblies and finished medical devices. It has already worked with Intelligent Fingerprinting on its single-use cartridge for drug screening, including the use of precision moulding to create a ‘living hinge’ that supports the cartridge’s
