about €125m in 2017, which would be an increase of nearly 20% from €105m in 2016. All sales regions are growing for Sepro, with the US and Germany the joint leading markets, said Renaudeau. To cope with growth in demand for its products, Sepro has two major

The moulder can initiate service requests, list concerns or questions, and add detailed robot status information by scanning a QR code. The app delivers the request and data directly to Sepro’s Service Hotline technicians, who can assess the real-time robot information and then respond by voice or two-way video communication. Using the app leads to reduced downtime, according to Sepro. “Open Co-operation” is the final

In this, the group com- municates and works widely with companies in the injection moulding industry, as well as with business associations and research institutions, in support of product development and market expansion. Examples of co-operation include projects with Carnegie Mellon University in the US and Audencia Business School in France, said Renaudeau.

New models New robots were demonstrated on Sepro’s Fakuma stand. These included two of three new small 6-axis, articulated-arm “universal” robots developed in partnership with Yaskawa-Motoman. The 6X-140 and 6X-170 on display, and a third unit, the 6X-70, are sized to serve injection moulding machines from 20 to 500 tonnes. These robots were shown along with two Sepro Stäubli articulated-arm robots – the 6X-90L and 6X-160 – which were developed for technical applications on moulding machines in 80-200 and 150-500

tonne size ranges, respectively. All the 6-axis robots were shown manipulating automotive parts. The “Open Integration” ap-

proach was in action on two moulding machines operating on the Sepro stand. Sepro’s recently introduced Success 5 general-pur- pose robot was shown removing optical connectors from a 50-tonne Sumitomo (SHI) Demag machine. A new 3-axis-servo sprue picker – the S5 Picker – was shown handling toy parts moulded on a 50-tonne Milacron machine. Sepro robots were also part of demonstrations on the stands of its

injection moulding machine partners. Sumitomo (SHI) Demag demonstrated a 3-axis servo sprue picker operating with a 50-tonne machine. A MultiInject robot was shown on another machine. Both robots had Sumitomo (SHI) Demag branding. Billion demonstrated Level 1 integration with a

BX-35 5-axis robot (Billion’s version of Sepro 5X-25). The robot control was mirrored on the Billion machine control. Haitian offered a dual demonstration, integrating a Sepro Success 11 robot with a 130-tonne Mars 900 machine and a 5-axis Haitian by Sepro 5X-35 robot with a 4,500-tonne Jupiter II press. Other exhibitors with Sepro robots included: Chen Hsong showing a Sepro Success 11 robot working with a 260-tonne machine; German machinery distributor Gentis operating a Sepro Success 11, 3-axis robot with a LienFa injection moulding machine; and Tederic operating two moulding machines, one equipped with a 5-axis Sepro 5X-15
