Plast show opens its doors to the plastics industry
Italy’s leading plastics exhibition Plast 2018 takes place in Milan in June. Here we preview the demonstrations of injection moulding machinery exhibitors
Negri Bossi is launching Nova, a new platform of mid-range machines, at Plast 2018. The Nova range replaces Negri Bossi’s old Vector range of ma- chines. They are available in sizes of 700, 850 and 1,150 tonnes, with injection capacities ranging from 2,010 to 6,107 cm³ and Euromap classifica- tions 4960, 7460 and 9750. The Italian company says: “One of the key
features is a revolutionary new X-design toggle system that provides vastly increased strokes, tie bar distances and platen speeds in a very compact footprint. The range is also equipped with a new automatic filtered lubrication system in a closed loop, hydraulic control. The machines are driven by
latest generation servo motor and pumps, provid- ing higher modularity and offering greater flexibil- ity across the range.”
Negri Bossi has also developed a new control system called Motus, which feature on the Nova machines, and will ultimately be available across the full range of company’s machines. The Motus is a 21. 5-inch multi touch screen with a configurable interface and user-friendly gesture navigation allowing easy set up. The interface is also customis- able, allowing the user to personalise screen and functions. “Smart alarms” are part of the fault management system. The Nova machines are being launched in differ- ent versions: servo hydraulic (called Nova S) and hybrid (Nova I). Both machine classes will be running at Plast, moulding products that will demonstrate the capabilities of each model.
A fully electric Nova E machine is offered in the range 50 to 350 tonnes. This will be shown on the Negri
