advantages. Benefits include the ability of one operator to handle the onloading and offloading of single or multiple dryers with up to ten receivers with a ground level receiver and pump control. The operator can control mezzanine and elevated component installations remotely and without having to climb to the unit to monitor or adjust. The ability to control up to ten receiv- ers means that one Ultra

dryer can manage the conveying of an entire cell. The icon-based touchscreen of the Ultra dryer

control shows the activity of each receiver in real time, whether it is calling for material, receiving material or discharging. Pump and receiver settings can be adjusted in real-time.

Changes at Motan The Motan-Colortronic group announced a name change and new brand identity at last year’s K show in Germany and is now known as Motan Group. The Colortronic name will no longer appear in the company names in the future, said Carl Litherland, CMO. The sales and service structure are retained, and the new brand identity will have no organisational impact on the corporate structure. All companies of the Motan Group will operate under the “Motan” umbrella. In example, Bolder Automation, which was

acquired by the company in July 2021 and specialises in the development and construction of control systems for continuous plastics processes

such as extrusion and blow moulding, will be renamed Motan Extrusion Engineer- ing, with offices remaining in Limburg, Germany. The business is fully integrated into the Motan Group. Motan Group also consoli-

dated its product portfolio into two-brands, its “Motan” premium brand for customer- specific system solutions, and its “Swift” brand for cost-effective, entry-level models that offer

quick delivery for standard injection

moulding, blow moulding, extrusion, and com- pounding applications. Motan Group’s headquar- ters will remain in Konstanz, Germany. Motan has introduced to the European market under the Swift brand its new SCompact line of dryers which feature integrated conveying and a drying bin. The unit is designed for flexible material processing in the production line and developed to guarantee a stable and reliable drying process. The SCompact dryers are available in three versions in which the unit can be equipped with one drying bin of the size 80-, 150- or 250-litres, and up to three material loaders. The dryers are designed with two desiccant

cartridges that generate a continuous dry air flow with a low dew point. The dryers are suited to production facilities with high air temperatures and high ambient humidity. The microprocessor control of the SCompact uses both SSR and PID technology to ensure a precise drying temperature by managing a dry air generator, drying bin and up to three material loaders. All conveying and drying functions are shown and monitored on a user-friendly 7-inch colour touchscreen display. Optionally, an SColor V additive dosing unit can also be controlled using the touchscreen. The SCompact A dryers are equipped with a dew point control for accurate drying and reduc- tion of energy consumption function, as well as a conveying line purging function. The control also has an integrated function to manage conveying and mixing, which saves money as no separate control is needed. The SCompact system integrates an SConvey

CHS material loader that transports plastic granu- late to the processing machine or drying bin, which prevents contamination, material loss and costly downtime by precisely co-ordinating material conveyance. An optional SConvey CMS machine
