DMH are the options that allow for design and construction while remaining highly cost-efficient,” say the companies. “The one-shot process produces components with premium-quality surfaces, entirely
cabinet for easy access and mainte- nance. The MC5 series is 27% lighter, and has a 23% smaller footprint. There are 12 different models to meet moulders individual needs. The MC5-G1 series hot water controllers are available in 25, 55 and 88 litre sizes, each in low temperature (up to 95°C) and high temperature (up to 120°C) versions. The optional MC5-G3 controller, available in the same sizes and temperatures, has more program- ming choices.

More efficient chillers too On the cooling front, new Conair EP Series 10-ton and 20-ton (US tons) are said to combine “dramatic” power savings with the versatility to efficiently handle a range of low, partial, and full chilling loads. “In head-to-head tests against 10- and 20-ton chillers equipped with conventional fixed-speed and digital scroll compres- sors, EP2 Series Portable Chillers delivered energy savings of 20 to 50% in a range of realistic and low-load conditions,” Miller says. This option is available on both water-cooled and air-cooled models. Miller points out that chillers with conventional,
without the technical and financial expenditure of decorated films or painting. “As a result, additional in-mould

fixed-speed compressors cannot adjust their cooling capacity by slowing down. Instead, they adapt to low-load conditions using a hot-gas bypass that creates an artificial load to prevent overcool- ing. “At partial loads, energy savings are minimal,” he says. Even the newest digital scroll compressors cannot match the efficiency of variable-speed compres-
sors. “With the help of this variable-speed
compressor option, processors can use the same 10-ton EP2 Series chiller to very efficient-
ly handle any load from 3 to 10 tons. Processors will see impressive power savings from these chillers through- out their capacity range, with the most dramatic savings in the lowest load conditions,” Miller claims. Frigosystem continues to develop its RACA Plus
Energy chillers with capacities from 15 to 260 TR cooling capacity, all with dual circuit, multiple scroll compressors and using R410a refrigerant. Dry coolers and adiabatic dry coolers have also recently been upgraded. ACE, a true adiabatic cooler, is able to provide cool water in closed loop, reducing to 90% the energy and water consumption compared to a tradi- tional cooling tower.
