quality, thanks to thermal energy recirculation by means of a heat exchanger. The Eko-N concept, with modular design, allows easy expansion of a drying system and can be fully integrated into Koch’s visualisation software. The heat exchanger concept in the tube system has been adopted from its earlier Eko dryer, and further improved. Thermal energy recovery reduces energy con- sumption by 20-30%, depending on the drying temperature of the material. This reduces the average energy consump- tion while maintaining the same quality, says Koch. The drying parameters of 28 materials are
preconfigured in the material database and a further 212 customer-specific recipes can be stored. As well as having a Siemens S7 control system, Eko-N dryers have a 10.4in touch panel display. This allows easy access to relevant operat- ing states – and the ability to adjust parameters such as drying time, temperature and dwell time.
Sturdy design Movacolor has launched its new MBS range of blenders.
Having compact and sturdy design, there are no mechanical or
moving parts in the hoppers – as well as having modular construction and accurate dosing. “The blenders are of the same high quality as our dosing units and can handle all commonly used materials,” said Klaas Talsma, product manager at Movacolor. As well as 17 standard configu-
rations, they can also be custom- ised based on the customer’s
specific requirements, he added. The standard configurations are divided into
three series: the 3 series, 20 series and the 20 Extrusion series. All Movacolor blenders can dose accurately up to 0.02% and the maximum through- put is set at 1600 kg/h. “Because they are part of our modular concept, they can also easily be upgraded to a Hybrid
