he organising committee for 20th ISMS Congress and 26th North American Mushroom Conference in Vancouver, Canada, met two weeks ago and reconfirmed the event would go ahead as planned.

Congress Scientific Program Chair, Dr John Peccia, has invited scien- tists and marketers interested in presenting their research work in oral or poster sessions in Vancouver, to begin preparing abstracts for submission. “There has been a lot of interest from researchers already. The website for the submission of abstracts will open in the first week of June, so now is a good time to start thinking about what
you are going present and begin writing. Submissions will officially close on 30 October and its amazing how quickly that date will arrive.” Authors can obtain guidelines for the preparation of their abstracts, and the protocols that govern their submission, by visiting the Congress scientific program webpage.
The organising committee confirmed that Christiaens Group has signed-up as a sponsor of the event and that other potential spon- sors should contact the conference team at mushrooms@evoque. ca or +1 604-952-5507 for information. The exhibitor’s program will be released in June so check the event website regularly.
Hoving Holland 90th anniversary H
oving Holland, a well-known producer of machines for composting installations, celebrates this month its 90th anniversary.
The company was founded in 1930 and started as a local cartwright. Shortly after the World War II, Hoving Holland started the production of transporters (loading systems) for agricultural and industrial purposes. In the mid-seventies they came in contact with a mushroom grower who required several logistic innovations. From that moment on the company became more and more involved in the mushroom business.
In recent years the company has grown considerably. The company has more than doubled its production facilities and the workforce has also grown. Meanwhile the fourth generation of the Hoving family is becoming involved in the company in different functions. “In addition, qua- lity always comes first, as well as for the products as the after-sa- les. We aim for a steady, stable growth and focus on optimizing and extending the lifetime of our machinery”. “Hoving Holland can look back on a rich history of successes and would like to thank everybody who is involved in making this achievement possible. On to the 100th anniversary..!”
