First truffle harvest from Dutch soil!


On Saturday morning 18 January 2020, truffle hunting dogs Fredo and Cora sniffed out the first four truffles in the truffle orchard set up by Judith Evenaar in 2013. According to the planning, the time was ripe for the first truffles - tuber borchii - to emerge and 2019 had offered the ideal weather conditions: a warm summer and rain in autumn and winter. At the end of January, the orchard with flowering hazel trees was looking splendid and Judith decided it was a good time to hunt for truffles. The help of truffle hound Fredo
