Manuka Biotech Manuka Biotech, a business unit of Singao, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Mak Yat Lun (Maky) as Regional Sales Manager. Mr Mak will be responsible for commercial outreach and the strategic growth of Ma- nuka Biotech and he will develop a distributor network in- ternationally, especially in Asia Pacific in the years to come. Reporting directly to Dr Lai ZhouWen, the Managing Direc- tor of the company, his priority will be to work with the marketing and operations team to drive business in Malaysia and other parts of the world.


Zinpro Zinpro Corporation announced that Dr Miquel Morales, D.V.M., has joined the company as dairy technical service specialist, Western District. In this new role, he will assist Zinpro dairy customers in California and the surrounding western states to improve on-farm management for in- creased animal wellness, production and profitability. Dr Morales brings more than 30 years of dairy experience to his role, most recently as a senior technical service manager for a global nutritional ingredient company.


Amlan International Amlan International is proud to appoint Fred H. Kao, who will take up the new role of Vice President of Global Sales. The creation of this position further sup- ports the company’s invest- ment in the gut health product line for the global market. Kao brings 20 years of expertise in building strong relationships with key integrators in the animal protein business to the company. He has worked in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific since 2004, most recently managing the Asia Pacific business unit for Cobb-Vantress Inc.


DSM completes acquisition of Biomin and Romer Labs


Royal DSM announced the completion of its acquisition of Biomin and Romer Labs, which are both part of the Erber Group, for an enterprise value of € 980 million. The acquisition of Erber Group was first announced on 12 June 2020. DSM states in a press release that the transaction is expected to enhance earnings in the first year after comple- tion. Biomin specialises mainly in my- cotoxin risk management and gut health performance management, whereas the Romer Labs business in- volves food and feed safety diagnostic solutions. According to DSM, the acqui- sition of Erber Group’s Biomin further strengthens DSM’s expertise and is closely aligned with its focus on mak-


ing animal farming more sustainable from both an ecological and an eco- nomic perspective. Romer Labs com- plements DSM’s human nutrition and health offering to customers in the food & beverages market segments.


DSM delivers solutions for human nu- trition, animal nutrition, personal care and aroma, medical devices, green products and applications, as well as new mobility and connectivity. DSM and its associated companies, which have approximately 23,000 employees, deliver annual net sales of about € 10 billion. The company, which was founded in 1902, is listed on Euronext Amsterdam.

VIV Asia postponed until September 2021


This trade show, which was originally scheduled for March 2021, has been postponed until 22-24 September 2021 due to Covid-19-related restrictions. Global travel restrictions and the man- datory 14-day quarantine for all visitors entering Thailand would have created insurmountable obstacles for the event, which will be held in Bangkok. Panadda Kongma, director of VNU Asia Pacific, said: “Our local office in Bang- kok is monitoring the cautious meas- ures that the Thai government is taking due to concern about a second Covid-19 wave, as we have seen in

other countries.” “VIV Asia alone attracts more than 50,000 professionals with 70% of participants coming from out- side of Thailand.
