This was my first opportunity to attend STN [EXPO], and moving forward, it will be hard to top this one. And then, there was the recognition for the Peter J. Grandolfo award. I am so honored and humbled to have even been considered for such an award, and I thank you. I realize that there is a huge responsibility in receiving an award such as this, and I will continue to do my very best in representing Mr. Grandolfo’s legacy and purpose in serving our students and each other. Veronica Tenorio, a school bus driver for Santa Fe Indian School in New Mexico, celebrated her 30th year behind the wheel in September. A Brazilian schoolgirl died last week after she leaned her head out a bus window and was hit by a pole, suffering a fatal head injury. The incident highlights policies U.S. school districts have for students to remain seated and keep all parts of their bodies inside school buses. Read more at
