New federal legislation was announced two weeks after the Ohio fatality. The School Bus Safety Act, introduced by Sens. Sherrod Brown of Ohio and Tammy Duckworth of Illinois, aims to make school buses even safer by implementing recommendations from the National Transportation Safety Board.
