LAUNCHING
THE BIG ISSUE
We’re here to help T
here’s been a growing expectation on sports providers to have appropriate safety and safeguarding procedures in place, to ensure the safety of people taking part. Over the last year, in response to this, the RYA has been asking all new and existing affiliate clubs who they deliver activity for and the policies and procedures they have in place.
Using this feedback, we’ve developed a programme of support for our affiliates and their volunteers. This will help them develop or build on the practices they have in place to deliver safe, inclusive and rewarding boating to their members and participants.
To help clubs continue doing their fantastic work, we’re gathering information from them annually via the RYA Affiliation Portal. Once we’ve received the information, we’ll issue each organisation with a list of recommended policies and procedures they should have in place, along with supporting information, advice and workshop opportunities.
Affiliation 2025 is now live, via the portal, and ready to answer your organisation’s questions. For details of how to log in, email
