World record Achievement in print

John Gimson and Anna Burnet’s challenge to cross the Irish Sea as fast as possible in their foiling Nacra 17 has

made it into the 2025 Guinness World Records book. Only around ten percent of world records that exist make it into print each year. ‘We’re delighted. It was a challenge to set the record on water and another to make sure we had the paperwork in order!’ said Burnet after the sail. It took one hour, 30 minutes and 41 seconds for the pair to sail from Ballyholme Yacht Club in Belfast to Portpatrick in Scotland in September 2023. They took on the challenge to raise awareness of the effects of maritime travel on the environment. ˇ˛˘ ˗˨ Ѓ˜˦˛˘˗ ˙˨˥˧˛ ˜ ˧˛˘ ˁ˔˖˥˔ ʤ Є˘˘˧ ˔˧ ˧˛˘ ˃˔˥˜˦ ʥʣʥʧ ˂ˠˣ˜˖˦ʡ
