RYA VOLUNTEER AWARDS Rewarding commitment

RYA recognition for dedicated volunteers

Celebrating the achievements of the UK boating community

V

olunteers play a huge part in the sport we love, and every year the RYA celebrates these dedicated

individuals. As the pandemic meant the planned ceremony in London was unfortunately unable to go ahead, some 2020 RYA Volunteer Awards were presented to winners locally at socially distanced events, while others will be presented when lockdown restrictions allow. RYA President HRH The Princess Royal recorded a video message that was sent to all the winners, congratulating them, and thanking them for all their hard work.

RYA Community Awards The RYA Community Awards are presented to outstanding individuals for their commitment and services to boating at club or grassroots level. Individuals are nominated by affiliated clubs, centres or organisations, and awards are given across three categories: Lifetime Commitment, Outstanding Contribution and Youth.

LIFETIME COMMITMENT CATEGORY Martin Appleby (Girton Sailing Club), John Cronshaw (Delph Sailing Club), Robert Daws (Chipstead Sailing Club), Dave Finlay (Derwenthaugh Sea Cadets),
