Triple Crown Draft Classic
Coming In October In less than 3 months the brand
new facility at the Ancaster fair- grounds will be filled with the top draft horses of North America com- peting for champion titles over the course of 3 days. The Triple Crown Draft Classic (TCDC) will be the first of this annual show taking place October 28-30th. The show will fea- ture the triple crown of the draft horse breeds; Belgians, Clydes- dales/Shires, and Percherons. From vendors to our youth competing for champion showman to crowning these tremendous equine champions there is something for everyone in the family to enjoy. The TCDC is honoured to be
able to include a variety of excep- tional vendors from the area. For western apparel: Kicking Cowgirl Designs. For jewellery: Palomino Jewellery. For harness and tack needs: Five Star Harness. For show photography: Courtney Williams Photography. For custom equine welding fabrication: JW Custom Fab. For graphic design work: TSM Design. Walk through the barns and stop and shop with these vendors be- tween programs at the show. At the TCDC promoting the
draft horse industries youth is of up- permost importance. The youth are the future of the industry and watch- ing them show these gentle giants is a spectacular sighting. There are two age groups that will be competing for champion showman on Saturday morning in the halter show: Jr. Showman (7-13 years of age) and Sr. Showman (14-18 years of age). In addition, you can watch them drive in the North American Classic
Youth Cart where they battle for points to show in the North Ameri- can Finals being held in 2023. These talented youth are some of the finest showman in the industry. You don’t want to miss the opportunity to see them in the ring. The most talked about class at
the TCDC is the Charity Cart Class. In opening to the class, a member of our local community will be singing in honour of the Children at Mcmas- ter Childrens Hospital. Watch nu- merous carts enter the ring dressed in costume to the theme of “Villains and Superheroes”; hooked to one of the gentle giants in honor of the Mc- master Childrens Hospital. Proceeds from this class will be donated to the hospital. Come cheer on your favourite team! The TCDC is honoured to
headline the North American Classic Series: Classic Series Six-Horse Hitch, Classic Series Cart, and Clas-
sic Series Youth Cart. We are excited to announce that in 2023 we will be a qualifying show for the newly in- troduced Classic Halter Series. Members of the series compete in these classes for points to show at the North American Classic Series Finals. In addition, the TCDC has been chosen as the final’s location for the Ontario Four-Horse Hitch Classic Series (Scheduled Saturday PM) as well as the Canadian Draft Horse Futurity (Scheduled Friday AM).
