ontarioxtremecowboy2012@gmail.com ontarioxtremecowboy.ca OXC News August As the days get shorter and the nights

cooler, the OXC circuit is just starting to heat up with the fall fair races swiftly approach- ing. After a two year hiatus due to Covid-19, OXC sanctioned events are back at fairs across Ontario, and we are Hot to Trot! OXC events at fairs bring new elements

to the sport of Extreme Cowboy Racing with added hubbub surrounding the show arena. Vendor wagons, baby strollers, bikes, bal- loons and the chaotic midway always seems to intensify the excitement of the day. Com- peting at fairs allows riders the op- portunity to win more prize money than is typically awarded in OXC races. Local sponsors and fair boards contribute thou- sands of dollars to the OXC for added money races, brining these competitions to the next level. The circuit starts August 8

with a Cowboy Classic triple EXCA pointed

race

Williamstown Fair, and is quickly followed by races at the Vankleek Hill Fair (August 20) Stormont County Fair (September 5) and the Markham Fall Fair (Septem- ber 30). Competitors will not

at

want to miss the Reg Newton Memorial Race at the Roseneath Fair (October 1), which is a $3000.00 minimum added money event! The final fair races will be held at the Erin Fair (October 9) and the Norwood Fall Fair (Oc- tober 10). OXC members will be feeling nostalgic, as the 2022 Norwood Fair race marks the 10th anniversary of the OXC. Competitors and spectators are promised an amazing event to celebrate where the OXC started out 10 years ago. The local fairs hosting OXC racing are

a great opportunity for anyone interested in the sport of Extreme Cowboy Racing to see what it is all about. Whether you want to be a competitor, spectator or sponsor, the OXC family is always accessible and willing to talk about the sport they love! So come on out, support your local fair, take in the sights, and stop by the OXC arena to say “Hi”, and don’t forget to check us out at on- tarioxtremecowboy.ca.

Restoration Ranch in Cambridge ON. This is the newest EXCA sanctioned Extreme Cowboy Racing club in Ontario. OXC members will remember that this year’s OXC event held at Restoration Ranch had obstacles with working cattle, which is a rare and appreciated opportunity for OXC competitors! Check out Restoration Ranch and the SSCC online at restorationranch.ca In July, OXC competitors enjoyed a

lovely day ‘camping’ at Cowgirls Dream Ranch! This popular venue did not disap- point with beautiful obstacles and a well run event. Thank you Cowgirls Dream Ranch for hosting the OXC.

Don Crawford dwc@dc2graphics.com amandalaw@live.com ORCHA News July 24 was our third show. Even though it

rained earlier that morning, it was still a large and successful show. The rain just kept the dust down for us. Each class is finding new winners who are stepping up to the bar. All the competitors have been working hard to improve and it shows! My good friend, George Hewitt, comes to

all the shows to watch. He said, “this association is like a development league where you can go and learn and improve and school and have fun doing it.” Our mission statement says exactly that. With this association we are so fortunate that we have so many knowledgeable people that are so gener- ous with their help. Just ask Louise or Dayna or Hayley!

The point standings in each class are close among several riders. Keep working!
