BEYOND THE MATERIAL
Tile of Spain explains why Spanish ceramics are a sustainable choice for both people and the planet.”
Choosing Spanish ceramics means opting for a high-quality material and an industry deeply rooted in European tradition. In a context of growing global competition, where many products do not meet the demanding European standards, companies from Tile of Spain stand out for their connection to their local roots, their social and environmental responsibility, and customer care that strengthens their distinctive value in the international market.
SUSTAINABLE RESPONSIBILITY
The Spanish ceramic industry operates under strict regulations on sustainability and energy efficiency, driving a responsible production model. In 2023, the circular economy practices implemented by the sector achieved significant results: raw material consumption was reduced by 810,000 tonnes (equivalent to the weight of 75 Eiffel Towers), 923m litres of water were saved (equivalent to 37 Olympic swimming pools), and 450,000 tonnes of CO² emissions were avoided, similar to the emissions generated by 112,500 households. Currently, 93% of the waste generated in the processes, both solid and liquid, is recycled, bringing the sector closer to the zero-waste goal. These achievements reflect the ongoing commitment of Spanish manufacturers to technological innovation, continuous improvement, and the optimisation of natural resources.
COMMITMENT TO PEOPLE
The Spanish sector directly employs around 16,000 people, and for each of these positions, five additional jobs are created in the country. Companies operate under the strict labour legal frameworks of the European Union, which ensures safe working environments, fair labour conditions, and a strong commitment to gender equality and non-discrimination.
