COVER STORY MENSIONS
ny’s product offerings, including its innovative CUBE system, and explains what sets them apart n the market.
Whereas initial sales were mainly to just tile showrooms, it has not taken long for kitchen and bathroom retailers to realise that this is the perfect way for them to add product to their existing showrooms. Most existing K&B showrooms will consist of a good selection of roomset displays, fully fitted out with furniture and tiled throughout. Whilst this is the best way to show bathroom product and achieve good sales, it is somewhat limiting on being able to provide an in-depth selection of tiles, and most tile samples not on show in roomsets will tend to play second fiddle, being displayed in small distributor stands or even stood against a spare section of wall or counter – not conducive to the nice, quality showroom in which they are stood.
The discerning customer planning on making a major spend to improve their bathroom or kitchen will want a good selection of tiles in different colours and sizes. Instead of being an `also ran’ part of buying the whole package, tiles have now become a very important part of this process and can even influence whether the showroom makes the sale or not. Consumers like to spend time selecting and considering which tile design is just right for them, a process which involves some time and assistance in helping to make this important decision by the showroom staff. In order to help the selection process, a well-positioned, good sized layout table is essential - much better that laying out loose tile samples across the showroom floor, which will often be the case. CUBE can provide layout tables as part of the range, either as an island unit or as part of a wall run and all sized to suit the individual showroom space as required. Each tabletop is supplied finished with a good quality, hardwearing non-slip `soft touch’ surface which eliminates the off-putting clunk that tiles make when laid on a hard surface and prevents them from slipping all over the place.
CUBE is made to order in a choice of colours to suit all showrooms and the Vision team help the customer work
out which components they require in detail. Our sales team ask each customer for information on the amount of space available in their showroom along with details on the ranges of tile sizes/quantities they wish to display. Based on this information, the design team then generate a set of CAD layout plans and elevation drawings showing the ideal configuration and exact dimensions. This enables the customer to see exactly what they can get on display and the amount of space required to do so.
Once all the detail is agreed, the sales team provide a quotation for all the display equipment along with cost options for the Vision install team to come and fit if required. Many customers choose to install themselves and the system is designed to require no more than basic DIY knowledge or tools, all of which is backed up with clear and concise installation instructions coupled with telephone backup if required during office hours.
Once everything is agreed, each project then takes the Vision production team around 2- 3 weeks to manufacture and deliver/install as required.
