SAMPLE PREPARATION & PARTICLE SIZE ANALYSIS PRODUCT FOCUS

PARTICLE SIZE MATTERS

Introducing Fritsch, suppliers of sample preparation and particle size equipment.

Fritsch is a family-run, German manufacturer of laboratory sample preparation and particle size analysis instrumentation, with the offices, production and R&D facilities located in Idar-Oberstein. Established as one of the market leading manufacturers in this field, Fritsch supply innovative, high quality products, with exceptional design and quality, throughout the product range.

There are three product groups within the Fritsch sample preparation portfolio: milling, sieving, dividing and feeding. In addition, Fritsch also manufactures particle size analysis instrumentation using static light scattering or dynamic image analysis.

Good sample preparation is the key to many different types of work and analyses including: research and development, quality assurance / quality control, ICP, XRF etc. In addition, sample preparation instrumentation can be used for mixing or homogenisation applications.

Fritsch manufactures a wide range of sample preparation instrumentation, including: planetary ball mills, cutting and rotor mills, jaw crushers and disk mills. With the launch of the new Premium Line product line, Fritsch is confident of keeping one step ahead of the market demands for this equipment.

Since 1984, Fritsch has been manufacturing laser particle size analysers. Fritsch was the first company to introduce the concept of laser diffraction in a convergent laser beam. By positioning the Fourier lens in front of the measurement cell, a convergent laser beam passes through the

measurement cell and the scattered light is focused directly on the detector without the need for additional optical elements. For the large scattering angles of small particles, a side detector system has been fully integrated.

In 2016, the new Fritsch NanoTec laser particle size analyser was introduced, with a measuring range of 0.01 µm to 2,100 µm. Each instrument is supplied with a laptop computer, with the latest version of the

Fritsch MaS control software installed and ready to use.

Gerhardt UK Ltd. has been the exclusive agents for Fritsch in the UK and Ireland since 2006, employing a product specialist to manage the Fritsch product portfolio. In partnership with Gerhardt UK Ltd, Fritsch is confident that they can offer the best possible, pre and post-sales support for either your sample preparation or particle size analysis instrumentation application. Once a comprehensive understanding has been gained of the nature of the sample material and the preparation specifications, we can offer advice and guidance from our wealth of experience.

Gerhardt UK Ltd is able to offer sample testing to prove the effectiveness of the sample preparation techniques used. This in turn can be supported by laser particle size analysis, to confirm the particle size distribution of the milled sample material. If the initial testing is successful an onsite product demonstration could be arranged, which would typically be followed by a short period of evaluation.
