International standards Naturally, Aptus adheres to all international health and safety standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. Aptus is committed to benchmarking safety performance year on year, ensuring consistency across all sites and offices.
In addition to this, Aptus recently secured a RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) Gold Award for the fifth consecutive year. The award was secured following a stringent assessment of the company’s health and safety performance which analysed everything from strategy, communication and training to the processes in place to ensure the workforce is fully competent to fulfil their role.
Safety stand downs Regular safety stand downs – where knowledge
and learnings are cascaded down to all teams – toolbox talks, and bespoke training plans are in place to impart information. Processes are constantly evaluated to find the most effective ways for messages to resonate. All of this demonstrates that Aptus puts the welfare and safety of its people at the forefront of the business.

Mental health Mental health has become an increasingly important part of the overall health and safety strategy at Aptus. The business works closely with organisations including The Lighthouse Charity, Andy’s Man Club, and Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) in order to support the mental health of its people.
