SITEZONE SAFETY

by Wearable Personnel Distancing System SiteZone Safety has launched a wearable occupational Personnel Distancing System (PDS) to help get Britain back to work safely under COVID-19 conditions. It has a long battery life and is small enough to wear comfortably on a belt.

The SiteZone PDS was designed in collaboration with TFL and engineering experts, Pod-Trak, to provide maximum protection to wearers so they can work together at a safety compliant two-metre distance.

It has a minimum usage time in excess of one month between charges, compared with many other devices that require daily charging. This negates the need for work schedule interruptions from constant re-charging and avoids transferring the maintenance responsibility of the PDS unit to employees. There is a battery life indicator which informs users when the device requires charging.

The PDS has other useful features like the auto power-off feature to help conserve battery life. The ‘trigger’ point, or “exclusion zone” of the PDS can be configured to suit the site’s needs, within an adjustable range of one to three metres.

The SiteZone Safety PDS uses radio frequency identification (RFID) to detect proximity breaches effectively.

technology which performs consistently in various challenging environmental conditions. It detects other PDS tags through obstacles and around corners. This PDS does not suffer with some of the issues associated with other technologies such as Bluetooth, which may be interrupted by obstacles, even human body mass.

The PDS is available to purchase for SiteZone Safety, or to hire from ESS Safeforce, SiteZone Safety’s main hire partner.

SiteZone Safety is the leading UK-wide supplier of SiteZone proximity warning systems designed to reduce the risk of personnel and plant collisions. SiteZone is a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) proximity warning system using vibration, audio, and visual alerts.

by WorkScreen WorkScreen, the user-operated hearing test system, makes surveillance audiometry and compliance with Noise at Work Regulations safer and easier at lower cost than ever.

WorkScreen’s advantage is its flexibility and ease of use: simply hire the handset for any number of staff or licence the system for a period of time.

For any organisation

Whether you are a healthcare provider or employing organisation, WorkScreen can help, configured either as a provider of hearing tests or as a highly automated next-generation audiometer.

No-contact testing reduces cleaning and minimises virus transmission risk. This provides visible reassurance with the continuation of a valuable healthcare service in the COVID-era.

Portable and flexible technology

The wireless, rechargeable handset accesses the same technology used in the UK’s most popular high street audiologists. This gives users instant access to high quality HSE-categorised hearing tests, with full backup from WorkScreen’s audiology team.

Hearing tests for everyone with less disruption

Tom Parker, Director of WorkScreen, says that WorkScreen is designed for the workplace and that high-quality, consistent results require no specialist training.

He said: “We think everyone who needs a hearing test at work should get one - which is why we are proud be UK Hearing Conservation Association founder members and to have been recognised for Hearing Health Technology Innovation in the USA. By lowering costs and improving flexibility, our clients recognise they can conduct tests at a time that is most suitable for their operations, with minimal disruption.”

WorkScreen is available now as a full service or handset solution to replace standard audiometers.
