by Casella In industries including construction, manufacturing, engineering and the oil and petrochemical sector, workers are at risk of exposure to potentially harmful levels of chemicals that can have a severe impact on health. A stringent regime of hazard monitoring is essential for ensuring worker health and legal compliance for businesses across these sectors.
The VAPex Pro is an intrinsically safe low-flow personal air sampling pump designed to monitor wearer’s exposure to chemicals including Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and provide comprehensive, easy to interpret exposure reporting, which assists time-poor occupational hygienists in monitoring employees across a work site or manufacturing environment.
The pocket-sized sampling device allows the user to easily carry the pump around a site, equipped with a run time of over 34 hours under typical operating conditions. The VAPex pump is designed with three LED lights that indicate the pump’s battery status from a distance, preventing any unexpected charge failures that might disrupt monitoring activity.
Featuring full Bluetooth connectivity, the pump can be used in conjunction with the Casella Airwave App to provide access to an easy to use system that enables an operator to record notes and input data instantaneously using a tablet or mobile device. The Airwave App can also be used to access, calibrate, control and check the pump remotely, saving time by preventing the need to disturb the wearer of the pump – a critical feature in a COVID-19 workplace environment that requires social distancing measures be adhered to at all times.
The VAPex Pro features a wide range of 20ml - 500ml, allowing it to be used to sample for a range of airborne gas and vapour hazards, and an outstanding back pressure capability, ensuring uninterrupted smooth operation of the pump in even the most demanding situations.
