110 days can be too long a wait for a floor screed to dry, when you have tight deadlines steering your decisions. FlexiDry fast drying floor screed has been specially formulated to give you reduced screed drying times with a single easy-to-use product.
Mix the prescribed amount of FlexiDry fast drying liquid additive to your cement-sand mix and bring down the drying time of your screed to 21, 14 or 7 days – to suit your requirement. If that’s not quick enough, there is FlexiDry SuperFast to get your screed ready for the final finish within just 3 days of screeding.
WHY IS SCREED DRYING TIME SO IMPORTANT? According to industry benchmarks, it takes 110 days for a standard 75mm screed to be dry enough to take on the final floor finish, providing a relative humidity of 50% and a controlled temperature of 20ºC is maintained. Installing the final flooring before the screed has dried to this level can cause residual moisture to creep to the surface, causing a series of issues such as:
• Bubbling of vinyl and disintegration of adhesives • Swelling of wood • Mould, algae and dampness • Rotting of carpets • Delamination of tiles etc • All of these issues call for expensive remedial measures.
FlexiDry fast drying floor screed, on the other hand, gives architects and contractors the freedom to modify the screed drying time to suit their project requirements, without worrying about the quality of the screed. What’s more, FlexiDry being a highly concentrated liquid additive, it is cleaner, safer and easier to use, and provides the added advantage of easy transport and storage. As opposed to other modified screeds, our screeds are guaranteed to bring in the results even in highly adverse weather conditions, provided adequate screed protection measures are adopted.
