STAUF have been standing on solid ground for over 185 years.
It was over 185 years ago that Eberhard STAUF realised that times were changing, took advantage of the opportunity he was presented with and founded his own glue-making factory. The company’s advance from a small operation to a modern adhesives plant is the result of the constantly changing conditions in his economic area. Back then, nobody guessed that Eberhard STAUF, with his ambition and business acumen, was laying the foundations of what would become one of the most modern glue production plants in Europe.
Despite the immense growth it has experienced, the company has retained its creative spirit and the solid attitude of its founding father, and interwoven it firmly with the company philosophy over six generations.

Our state-of- the-art production equipment sets new ecological and technical standards, and we pursue the principle of sustainability in all of our undertakings. However, it is not sustainability in the production of adhesives alone, but also the harmlessness to health of our products during their processing and, not least of all, the need for a healthy living environment following the bonding process that are our strongest motivating factors.

A primary concern for STAUF is the protection of health and the environment. Most of STAUF's products are for this reason classified as ‘very low emission’ under the EMICODE (EC I or EC I PLUS).
The EMICODE is the trademark-protected GEV mark for the classification of low emission flooring installation products. The mark is awarded by the Association for the Control of Emissions in Products for Flooring Installation, Adhesives and Building Materials (GEV) for solvent-free, low emission products.
