SUSTAINABILITY: PRODUCT FOCUS
25 YEARS OF EVOLUTION
Greyland talks to Tomorrow’s FM about how it has placed sustainability front and centre of the company’s ethos and product ranges, and why this focus matters.
Greyland has always been committed to exceeding the industry’s highest environmental standards, and our efforts to be as sustainable as possible have been rewarded in many ways. We have been a Planet Mark certified business for two years and are currently working towards making it to our third. As well as that, we also meet both ISO 9001:2015 Quality Standards and ISO 14001 Environmental Standards.
We are a member of the CHSA which is an accreditation scheme for manufacturers who trade ethically, sustainably and meet manufacture quality. Manufacturers who are members of the CHSA have proven that their products are exactly what they say they are on the label. Greyland are one of the founders of the newly introduced Accreditation Scheme for Chemical Manufacturers, which means that buyers are trading with an ethical company and that ‘what’s on the box is what’s in the box.’ This means that when it comes to buying products branded as sustainable with this accreditation, you are getting exactly that. The importance of accurately naming a product as sustainable and ethical is incredibly important and at Greyland we are advocates of this approach to environmental sustainability.
Greyland is the home to our sustainable cleaning product range, Maximum Eco, which is split into three different ranges. The first is our core Maximum Eco range, which has been formulated to be powerful, effective and safer to use in comparison to standard cleaning products. Products in this range use plant-based, biodegradable ingredients, reducing the products environmental impact.
The second is one of our new additions to the Maximum Eco family - Biotech. This Biotech range uses eco-friendly

bacteria to colonise surfaces which break down organic matter which can be easily removed for a long-lasting cleaning effect. As the bacteria that we use within this range is cultivated in the UK, it has reduced our carbon footprint massively which coincides with our work that we do for Planet Mark, making choices as a business to keep our emissions low.
