Taking pride in delivering outstanding customer service

PPSPower is one of the leading providers of back- up power solutions for some of the UK’s biggest organisations. The trust they place in PPSPower’s engineers is rewarded through outstanding customer service – innovative solutions that are tailored to the exact needs of the customer, delivered transparently, cost- effectively and quickly.

From its base in Sherburn-in-Elmet, a Yorkshire spirit resonates in the approach PPSPower takes to business: innovative, refreshing and above all, open and honest. Clients enjoy cost-effective and competitively-priced solutions, with a partnership approach that is built on trust.

All engineers are trained to a very high level and PPSPower has an excellent record of bringing apprentices through to fully qualified engineers, some of whom have been in the industry over 20 years. They are based strategically throughout the UK to ensure there is always a mix of the right skills sets, mechanical and electrical, for the right location and job.

PPSPower benefits from being part of a wider group of power solution providers. Sister company YorPower distributes generators worldwide; Glenace, which is located at the Group’s head office in Yorkshire alongside PPS, is a controls and automation company; and there’s also Generator Warehouse, which sell generators off the shelf through its ecommerce website.

Growth during the COVID pandemic Like many companies, the COVID-19 pandemic presented

a huge challenge to PPSPower early in 2020. However, due to some forward-thinking in embracing technologies (as well as some good fortune) the company had recently established cloud-based systems for all of CRM, parts, planning and field software – in addition to cloud-based telephony. This meant that at the height of the lockdown, its specialists were all able to work freely from home without any effect on customer service and departmental communication.

As a result, PPSPower was able to grow rather than diminish, as many competitors did. The last 18 months have seen nine new people taken on in a variety of roles including inside sales, coordination, field engineers – plus an apprentice.

Contracts that are bespoke and flexible At PPSPower, all contracts are flexible and tailored in line with clients’ requirements. Coupled with this, and to deliver our prior objective of outstanding customer service, every member – from our coordination teams to our engineers and sales teams – understands the critical nature of the environments we work in and works in a joined-up way to ensure safety and quality are delivered every time.
