WHO, IN ANY OTHER INDUSTRY, DO YOU MOST ADMIRE?
It’s got to be Jony Ive. Once chief design officer of Apple, he’s responsible for the design of the iPhone and iPad. He’s completely transformed the telecommunications industry and it’s incredible to consider the impact his designs have had upon society.

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST JOB? I started my career in recruitment, which is what
sparked my love of working with people and getting under the skin of a wide range of different sectors to understand the challenges they face.
HOW DID YOU GET INTO THE FACILITIES MANAGEMENT INDUSTRY?
Moneypenny has been working within the industry for almost 20 years. We noticed a real opportunity to help FMs introduce innovation into their workplaces, as well as achieve significant cost savings. Over the years, our products have adapted to meet the demands of the industry and we’ve seen some brilliant client successes.
HOW DO YOU CHALLENGE THE STATUS QUO?
At Moneypenny, we never settle. We’re constantly developing our technologies and reacting to the needs of our clients. Much more than simply a telephone answering service, our solutions have the power to transform a business in terms of productivity, customer service and employee engagement.

INDUSTRY HAS SEEN/YOU HAVE OBSERVED? There’s a real trend among corporate firms looking to move switchboard away from front of house and giving their

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE FILM? I recently watched A Star is Born and loved it – the
soundtrack has been playing on repeat in my car ever since.

WHO WOULD THEY BE AND WHY? Beyoncé, Elvis Presley and Princess Diana.
ANY ADVICE TO SOMEONE JUST STARTING OUT IN THE INDUSTRY?
Have an open mind. The FM industry is forever changing as new technologies and ways of working emerge. It’s an extremely exciting sector to be in, but only those that welcome change will truly succeed. Your role now will most likely look very different in five years’ time, so be prepared and enjoy the ride!

WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE FUTURE OF THE FM INDUSTRY?
Without a doubt, we’ll see machine learning taking centre stage. AI is already becoming more prevalent in areas such as warehouse management and security, but its impact will only continue to grow. Our solutions are developing with some very smart speech recognition technology and FM clients are already reaping the benefits – it’s very exciting.
