A SUSTAINABLE SOLUTION FOR BNP PARIBAS
Reducing cost, waste and an organisation’s environmental impact through lower emissions are key priorities for any facilities manager. Reducing cost, waste and environmental impact were the objectives of BNP Paribas, a leading international banking institution that serves clients all over the world. The bank’s large headquarters in the heart of London incorporates a canteen for its 3,500 employees, plus 28 dedicated meeting rooms.
Historically, BNP Paribas stocked these meeting rooms with single- use, pre-bottled water. This was expensive and wasteful, because it had to dispose of or recycle a large number of empty plastic bottles. BNP Paribas is committed to helping build a sustainable future, therefore it sought a cost-effective solution that would reduce its carbon footprint.
THE RESOLUTION BNP Paribas chose to partner
with BRITA Vivreau, designer and manufacturer of environmentally- responsible, on-site water bottling systems. It has grown from a small, privately-owned UK company to a serious international player with operations in North America, South Africa, Australasia and several countries across Europe.
After consulting BNP Paribas and carefully considering the bank’s requirements, BRITA Vivreau installed its Table Water Bottling System, which takes pride of place in a range of global businesses including five-star hotels, Michelin- starred restaurants and large corporate offices.

They also use a compact boiling system, heating water to 97 degrees – the perfect temperature for tea – from the same tap.

BRITA Vivreau supplied hundreds of reusable Designer glass bottles to BNP Paribas along with its Table Water Bottling System. ViTap’s high capacity ensures fast, efficient service and a reliable supply at BNP Paribas, even at peak times. The units feature touch sensor control and zero splash for easy operation, as well as an intelligent safety feature that prevents boiling water being dispensed by accident.
THE RESULTS BRITA Vivreau’s Table Water
Bottling System and ViTaps have enabled BNP Paribas to switch from pre-bottled water to mains-fed dispensers, eliminating the need to purchase plastic bottles. This means no more emissions from delivery and disposal and no more packaging waste - drastically improving the bank’s environmental performance.
