SORTED Robert Scott and Sons are helping cleaning and maintenance staff to prepare for the summer holidays with their latest product offerings and advice.
Alistair Scott said: “School holidays are some of the busiest and most important months when it comes to school cleaning, with the day- to-day building maintenance being put on hold as deep-clean jobs are undertaken and rooms are overhauled ready for the new academic year”.

Group as the headline sponsor for a very special 20th Anniversary FM Forum, in Manchester for the first time. It marks the eighth time Salisbury Group have attended the event as a trusted industry supplier, with a great reputation
in FM, so they clearly see the benefits of the FM Forum. They even renamed the Hotel's Pub ‘The Salisbury Arms', with their very own Pub sign for the duration of the event!"

“Building work is scheduled. Infrastructure is improved or maintained. In our industry, it’s a great opportunity for contractors to carry out a deep clean or summer scrub down, while the going’s good.”
The reputation of a building is often based on its cleanliness, including the vital hygiene benefits gained by the removal of nasty bugs such as the norovirus, which have been known to cause the shutdown of some schools. Deep cleaning can reduce the risk of infections, and the effect allergens have
on students. It creates a better and more productive working environment. A school sitting empty during the summer term is a wasted opportunity, as well as a step back in the fight against grime making a home for itself on school surfaces.
Alistair continued: “That means the heavy-duty stuff such as moving the furniture, stripping and resealing floors, and steam cleaning carpets. Windows and walls cleaned, humidifiers washed, and toilets, kitchens, dining rooms and gyms are a must. And while during term time schools are limited on the cleaning chemicals that can be used due to allergies and health and safety, the holidays present a different opportunity. From ceiling to wall to floor, everything can be washed, scrubbed, cleaned, dusted and polished.”
The holidays are a good time to address cleaning procedures throughout the year. Providing extra training for cleaning professionals is important, checking that equipment is up to date and even looking into ‘green’ responsibilities by eradicating products which contain a lot of toxins.
