FRANCIS HUNTER SUPPORTS CORONA

ENERGY POWER UP Francis Hunter Group, an independent project management company, has enabled a corporate gas and electricity supplier to relocate to 20,000 sq. ft offices in Croxley Park, Watford.

Formerly based in Watford city centre, Corona Energy is the latest business to move to Croxley Park where it takes over the top floor of Building 2.

The Francis Hunter Group acted as project managers for the design and build on a negotiated contract, working with the appointed fit out contractor, Oktra.

The role consisted of an initial briefing, design development, negotiation and value engineering process. With the brief to maximise the natural light, Francis Hunter helped create a modern and open workspace for the 200 people

working at Corona Energy. Works started on site in August 2018 and the business moved into its new office at the end of November 2018.

This was Francis Hunter Group’s second fit out project at Croxley Park, having already completed the ground floor fit out for Glenmark Pharmaceuticals. The Group was also responsible for the original development of the same building, working with Columbia Threadneedle on the base build.

Matt Harris, Director at Francis Hunter Group, said: “Francis Hunter has been involved in the construction, design and fit out of

Croxley Park for almost three years so it was extremely rewarding to complete this project.”

Rebecca McLeod, Head of Strategic Partnerships at Corona Energy, said: “With excellent transport links and amenities, we believe Croxley Park is the perfect location from which we can build the future of our business.

“Francis Hunter remained professional and reliable experts throughout this whole project. I had confidence in them to manage the design and build process from beginning to end, allowing me to focus on my day-to-day priorities.”

for a client; in this sense we are very much aligned with the BIM philosophy.

“We went out to the market to actively engage customers on the subject of BIM and it quickly became clear that BIM Level 2 capabilities had to be developed to meet future client requirements, and not just in the public sector.”

for full participation in public sector projects – construction suppliers tendering for centrally procured government projects must be working at BIM Level 2 - but for organisations in the commercial sector looking to reap the benefits of this advanced approach to construction.

Jason Unsworth, General Manager GB at STANLEY Security, explained: “STANLEY Security is a proactive company that has its finger on the pulse of the security sector to identify where the market is going. We very much focus on identifying technology solutions that minimise financial outlay

STANLEY Security worked with Excitech, a technology solutions and services provider to the construction sector, to undertake a BIM Level 2 Accreditation GAP Analysis and provide consultancy and training in BIM Level 2. The transition to BIM Level 2 processes was achieved over a period of 18 months and, following a full Lloyds Register BIM Level 2 Assessment to ensure all processes were in place, understood and adopted, culminated in full accreditation.

According to the BSI, BIM Level 2 facilitates well-informed decision making for greater clarity, better communications and better efficiency. Cost savings of around 33% across CAPEX and OPEX are possible by following a Level 2 BIM process.
