Editor’s Voice

Hello and welcome to the October/November issue of Tomorrow’s Care. I hope you’re all doing well.

This month marked the return of World Mental Health Day on Saturday

10th October. Whilst mental health is a hugely important issue and there has been an increasingly prevalent awareness surrounding the topic in recent years, it has been in the spotlight even more so this year as the pressures of the current pandemic pose a considerable threat to mental

wellbeing. For many employees in the health and social care sector, where work can be challenging and mentally demanding at the best of times, coping with the pressures caused by COVID-19 has put a huge strain on their mental health.

In this issue, we have a dedicated feature section on Mental Health, with insight from experts on how best to ensure the mental wellbeing of staff.

Karolina Gerlich, Executive Director at The Care Workers’ Charity, looks at recent research to identify the effects of the pandemic on care workers’ mental health, and discusses the grants they have introduced to provide

support for these employees. We also look at the measures put in place by Exemplar Health Care to help its staff.

Elsewhere in the magazine, we look at Food & Drink, Property &

Construction, and Washrooms & Bathrooms. As well as expert advice on these subjects in general, these topics are also addressed in relation to

the current situation. As usual, we also have a jam-packed ‘What’s New’ section, with news from the frontline within care facilities, as well as all the latest company updates and product releases.

Stay safe and I look forward to seeing you in our next issue! ISSN 2055-477X
