For Leonardo, it has meant that the manufacturing process of certain suppliers has been revised and refined to minimise environmental impact. Water, an essential requirement in the manufacture of paper, is now being returned to its source cleaner than when it was extracted, while transport management systems have been amended to reduce journey times and avoid potential traffic congestion. The adoption of this thinking now encompasses the whole of the Leonardo operation, and its customers now know that there is currently no higher commercial rating for environmental compliance available. Constantly monitored, further improvements are always being sought.
