WELCOME TO THE 2014/2015 TOMORROW’S CLEANING YEARBOOK

I’m sure for many of you reading this it will be one in a number of Yearbooks you have glanced your eye over, but for me, it has been an important Yearbook to put together; looking though previous issues is one thing, but to put your own stamp on such a well-known and established guide as ours is something else. I certainly feel very privileged to be associated with the big names which appear within these pages, and I hope that, despite the difficulties the industry has faced recently, they will still be going strong for many years to come.

I mention difficulties, but let us not forget the positives; the Building Futures Group merger, for example, is sure to be a cause for celebration as we watch this association develop. This could be the perfect opportunity for the cleaning industry to improve upon the issues with training and education which it faces daily, and enable it to finally shrug off the painfully incorrect notion that cleaning is an unskilled and menial job. As well as improving upon the reputation of our sector, it will help employers to track the progress of their workforce, while giving a motivation to employees. Hopefully, this is an area in which the new organisation, along with other training academies that have sprung up, can help to improve upon as the years go by.

It isn’t always easy to find a comprehensible guide to the industry, with everything arranged in one accessible place. From Associations to Working at Height, whoever you need to speak to, or whatever product you need, you will find it nestled between these pages. The Tomorrow’s Cleaning Yearbook offers you a definitive reference guide for the cleaning industry, in an easily-readable format and engaging layout. The next time you need a certain product or service you will know exactly where to look for an answer.

Caroline Canty, Editor. 4 EDITOR'S VOICE: TOMORROW’S CLEANING YEARBOOK 2014/15

Our ‘What’s On?’ guide, tells you the places to be and people to see, while our ‘Useful Contacts’ page lists those all-important numbers for when you need help, advice, or simply just that right person to talk to. Our alphabetised industry sectors mean that you can easily locate a manufacturer, supplier or a service provider quickly and efficiently, but if you’re intimidated by jargon that’s no problem either, with our ‘Technical Terms’ providing you with a cleaning dictionary.

We hope this serves you well over the next 12 months; here’s to another prosperous year.
