Jangro customers get sustainable benefits

Independent UK and Ireland janitorial network Jangro is now offering its national account

customers the latest sustainability innovations as a core benefit, thanks to the rise in demand for environmentally conscious products and packaging.

All products from Jangro have been comprehensively assessed with a low overall environmental impact in mind, from the raw materials used, to logistics, packaging and recycling.

There is also a dedicated range designed to reduce users’ carbon footprints. The Jangro Enviro Concentrates

Dairy to dream of a recycled future

West Horsley Dairy, the family- owned foodservice distributor and

supplier of premium dairy products, has teamed up with Delphis Eco to reduce the number of single use milk poly bottles that go to landfill or end up in the ocean.

This step means its customers will be offered the full range of Delphis Eco’s British-made, all-natural cleaning products, which will be supplied in packaging made from recycled milk poly bottles.

West Horsley Dairy’s Director, Catherine Colton, explained: “We’re delighted to be offering the full range of Delphis Eco’s

Leading performance

Battery Supplies has released a new range of Lead Carbon batteries, a maintenance free alternative for AGM and GEL.

The negative plates of these batteries are made of lead and carbon, thus combining the advantages of classic lead-acid batteries with those of a supercapacitor. The addition of carbon ensures that these batteries have a higher charge acceptance and therefore have a shorter charging time than classic lead-acid batteries, and can provide good performance without being charged 100%.

collection are high concentration and low dosage products, which minimise the amount of product wasted, and significantly reduce the amount of plastic packaging sent to landfill.

Due to their buying power – there are currently 45 members in the network – Jangro is able to offer these sustainable, high quality cleaning products at consistent, competitive prices. Jangro can also help reduce customers’ overall spend, by rationalising products required and building a smaller, more cost-effective range for sites.

Jo Gilliard, CEO of Jangro, commented: “Sustainability is an important issue for our industry, especially with the recent crackdown on plastic packaging. Supporting our customers to make sustainable choices remains high on our agenda, and so we are always innovating to offer high quality, more environmentally conscious products and packaging, without undue price increases.”

cleaning products which are highly effective, yet do not use caustic ingredients that are toxic to the environment.

“This relatively small British producer has led the way and put big brands to shame in the way they have pioneered what was originally the UK’s first 100% recycled packaging, made from single-use milk poly bottles. It’s a fantastic initiative and we are very excited to be sharing this opportunity with our customers, many of whom share our passion for best practice in sustainability.

“We are very aware of the implications of our customers using plastic milk bottles and the ‘unintended consequences’ when it comes to disposing of single use plastic waste. The figures are worrying with estimates that nearly 40m poly bottles are used in the UK every day and only 20m of those are recycled. We all need to do more.”

In addition, they supply more power, are more resistant to (extremely) low temperatures and guarantee a longer lifespan of up to 1300 cycles. Furthermore, this latest technology suppresses sulphation better than any other technology, making these batteries suitable for PSOC applications – e.g. Solar.
